As to prevent boring or Mary-Sueish Characters, I've decided to supply you all with a bit of reference material.

A few guidelines as well...

No, your character is not almighty and special.

You want your character to be queen of the universe? Princess of a race? No, sorry.
This is a Fantasy Roleplay, but that doesn't mean you can take control of things like that. This is a common symptom of the Mary-Sue attire, and is highly disliked.
Avoid this at all costs.

Your character can be normal, too.

This is a Fantasy Roleplay, but that doesn't mean you have to have powers. In any case, it may be more exciting, and a more fun Roleplay if you don't have magic powers. Physical Combat is a popular non-magic attribute, and makes for an exciting Roleplay.

Don't have every power in the world.

Don't have every power in the world. The title speaks for itself.
It's annoying, and can really downplay an RP. Make sure you know what your own strengths and weaknesses are, but don't overdo it! Choose a few, or one.

The Emo Paradox

Okay, you want your chracter to be Emo or Gothic. Give us a reason, but don't overdo it!
No, your character was not abused by everybody. Not everybody hates them, either. A family member or relative may have abused your character, and maybe your character has social problems.
But no, by being abused and hated by everyone, you will be hated by everyone. It prevents you from making friends, and people wont even try to talk to you if you shoo them away.
